Special Instructions from the Technical Committee
It is extremely important that you review the schedule of events for the “Two-Day” Architectural Drafting Contest at this year’s AZ SkillsUSA Championships. Briefly, the Architectural Knowledge Test (250 Questions/90 Minutes) and the SkillsUSA Knowledge Test (tie-breaker) will be administered on Monday, April 28th. Immediately followed by an explanation of the 2008 Architectural Drafting Contest Problem Statement. An example of the PS will be posted for your use in preparing for this rigorous project. A “Client Sketch” will not be provided as this year’s contest is a “Design” and “Drafting” competition in order to use the contestant’s higher-level thinking/design skills.

Opening and Awards Session Attire for contestants and the general public:
SkillsUSA is a professional association and all students, teachers and guests are expected to maintain a professional appearance when attending the Opening and Awards Sessions. Please adhere to the Conference Attire Policy for clothing at these sessions. Students NOT in appropriate clothing will not be allowed on stage.
 
Bottled Water and Food
Each attendee is permitted to bring ONLY the following:
1. One (1) bottle of water or juice only.
2. One (1) individual sack lunch or snack
 
NOTE: No coolers, pizza deliveries or other group types of food distribution are allowed. Food will be available from the Phoenix Convention Center's vendors on both days of the conference.
 
National and Arizona-Only Contests
The term "national contest" denotes those contests in which the first place contestant (or team) qualifies to attend the National SkillsUSA Championships. By entering in the SkillsUSA Arizona Championships each contestant and Advisor agree that if the contestant wins first place he/she will attend the National SkillsUSA Championships or decline (to the state office) so that they second (2nd) place contestant can attend.
 
The terms "Arizona-Only" or "State-Only" denote those contests that are not available at the national conference.
